The electric van project began about 10 years ago and had a long incubation period during which progress was slow. I feel that it is getting back on track now with motor adaptor finished and ready for construction of a battery box. The most important positive factor, though, may be interest from my youngest son who wants this to be his car. The shell is a 1979 VW van complete with Grateful Dead decal. The kit of components that I purchased from Global Light and Power contains a 19 HP series wound motor (Advance DC), a 400 amp PWM controller (Curtis), and other miscellania useful to the builder of such a vehicle.
