I have been with the Kimmel Lab since 1988 working on development. I received a BS in Biology from the University of Oregon in 1991 and a BA with Honors in Spanish in 1995. When I have time aside from assisting Chuck in his research and doing the daily business of keeping our lab afloat, I'm interested in the patterning of embryos and have been looking at how the shapes of pharyngeal cartilages and craniofacial bones develop in fish. We have been excited about relating development and evolution: evo-devo. One might say I'm an evo-diva. I have been working with zebrafish, various populations of three-spine stickleback, catfish, loaches and any other fish I can get my hands on.
