Financial support is granted to neuroscience students who are in good standing. Although the sources of support vary, each student receives a twelve-month stipend and tuition waivers. Stipend levels are adjusted annually to be competitive with those offered by major institutions around the country.
Most first-year graduate students are offered financial
assistance through graduate teaching fellowships. Some students enter with a National
Science Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship. All first-year students are encouraged to apply
for these fellowships. Research assistantships or positions on federally supported
training grants in systems neuroscience, developmental biology, and genetics are typically
available for students with advanced standing.
