Service Request
- Fill out a service request form and send to tmf@uoneuro.uoregon.edu.
- Please send a copy of your IACUC approved protocol and your IBC (Institutional Biosafety Committee) registration information.
- Rederivations: two proven breeder males age 2-8 month, four 3-4 week old females if provided by PI.
- Cryopreservation: five proven breeder males age 2-8 month, 15-20 3-4 week old females if provided by PI.
- IVF: two proven breeder males age 2-8 month, 15-20 3-4 week old females if provided by PI.
Rederivation Service Description
- Purchase egg donors and recipient females (week 1)
- Mate superovulated donors with stud males (week 2)
- Plug check for pseudopregnant foster mothers mated to vasectomized males
- Harvest eggs for transfer
- Incubate fertilized eggs O/N
- Ovarian transfer of 2-cell embryos (week 3)
- Wean, ear tag and take tail biopsy from resulting offspring (week 8)
- Transfer tail biopsies and mice to the client (week 9)
Embryo Cryopreservation Service Description
- Purchase females mice for egg donors (week 1)
- Mate superovulated donors with stud males (week 2)
- Harvest eggs for freezing
- Incubate fertilized eggs O/N (optional)
- Slow freeze 2-cell or 8-cell embryos in straws (week 3 and 4)
- Test thaw and transfer embryos into pseudopregnant foster mothers mated to vasectomized males (week 5)
- Wean, ear tag and take tail biopsy from resulting offspring (week 10)
- Transfer tail biopsies and transgenic founders to the client (week 11)
IVF Service Description
- Purchase egg donors females (week 1)
- Superovulate donors (week 2)
- Harvest eggs and sperm and use for IVF
- Incubate fertilized eggs O/N
- Transfer fertilized eggs into pseudopregnant foster mothers (week 3)
- Wean, ear tag and take tail biopsy from resulting offspring (week 8)
- Transfer tail biopsies and mice to the client (week 9)
