Since its opening in 2004, the TMF has produced more than 6000 mice (December 2007), representing 8 re-derived lines and 113 new transgenic lines (created inside the TMF).
21 different transgenes haves been injected with a success rate (16%) comparable or superior (some transgenes have been injected with 30% of success) to any other facility of similar size worldwide.
The present number of microinjection can be of 2 to 4 transgenes injected a month, leading to an average of 5 lines produced per transgene.
The homologous recombination services have started in January 2007 and there are not enough data yet to be able to determine a significant success rate. The homologous recombination in ES cells and the injection of blastocytes are now done routinely and a few chimeras have been obtained (from 1 to 9 chimeras per injection, 5 injections performed between August and October 2007). One chimera has shown transmission so far, the other ones are too early to give any information as of December 2007.
