NB 2-4 These movies show two NB 2-4 clones at stage 15 in thoracic segments. Because both clones include epidermal sub-clones, these movies were designed to begin at the ventral surface of these clones (i.e., at the outer body wall, moving inwards towards the dorsal surface of the CNS.) Each shows the two medially displaced cells, one a bipolar neuron and the other, a contralaterally projecting MN that exits the CNS via SNa, innervating muscle 8. Each clone also contains a number of local interneurons.
Two ways to view the same clones: left panel is a confocal z-series of DiI labeled clone; sections are 1.5 microns. right panel is a projection of z-series, rotated 45 degrees about y-axis. DiI alone. In all cases, anterior is up. |
