NB 1-2 clone in T2: 2-4 DC motoneurons are observed to exit the CNS via SNb, innervating the mouth hook muscles, present only in thoracic segments and A1. The interneurons observed in other segments also form in thoracic segments, forming complex arborizations in the contralateral longitudinal connective. Axons cross the midline in both commissures of the clone's segment, as well as in the anterior commissure of the next posterior segment. Four ways to view the same clone: upper left panel is a confocal z-series of DiI labeled clone; sections are 1.5 microns. upper right panel is a projection of z-series, rotated 45 degrees about y-axis. DiI alone. lower left panel is a confocal z-series of DiI-labeled clone in en-GFP background. lower right panel is a projection of the z-series, rotated 45 degrees about y-axis. DiI with en-GFP.
In all cases, anterior is up. |
