Thoracic NB 1-1 clones produce the CoA motoneurons.

We chose these movies because they clearly demonstrate the positions of the motoneurons in thoracic NB 1-1 clones.

NB 1-1 clone in T1

Movie starts at dorsal surface, with aCC and pCC being the two dorsal-most cells. More laterally, the CoA cell becomes apparent, and both motoraxons are seen to exit the CNS laterally, aCC to muscle 1 (and others) and the CoA to muscles 12 and 13, via SNb. Local interneurons are the small ventral-most cells of the clone and project posteriorly. On the contralateral side there is a projection from another clone in a posterior segment not seen in these movies.

Four ways to view the same clone:

upper left panel is a confocal z-series of DiI labeled clone; sections are 1.5 microns.

upper right panel is a projection of z-series, rotated 45 degrees about y-axis. DiI alone.

lower left panel is a confocal z-series of DiI-labeled clone in en-GFP background.

lower right panel is a projection of the z-series, rotated 45 degrees about y-axis. DiI with en-GFP.

In all cases, anterior is up.
