NB 2-2 generates 2 or 3 motoneurons, innervating SNa muscle targets, as well as late-forming intersegmental interneurons and many local interneurons. In thoracic segments, it also generates the SPG-A glial cell.

These movies are stereo images of NB 2-2 clones.

On the left is a stereo image of a NB 6-2 clone in the first abdominal segment (with an MP2 clone in T3) and a NB 2-2 clone in the second abdominal segment. These clones are at stage 16 and have not yet extended their long intersegmental axons.

The clones on the right were imaged at stage 17, and appear more mature in a number of ways: The local interneurons have formed complex arborizations in the longitudinal connective, and intersegmental interneurons of the NB 2-2 clone have projected in both, anterior and posterior directions. The movie on the right contains a NB 1-1 clone anteriorly and a NB 2-2 clone posteriorly.

3D glasses will enhance the stereo optics, but we find that most viewers can see the three dimensionality at this magnification without the assistance of the glasses.
