NB 4-2 at stage 16: NB 4-2 generates the RP2 motoneuron and the entirety of SNc. At stage 16, those growth cones are still feeling their way over the SNc target fields, as seen here. We chose this movie because it also shows the epidermal sub-clone we see in 25% of NB 4-2 labelings; the subclone is always found at approximately 50% of the length of the RP2 motoraxonal trajectory.
Two ways to view the same clones upper left panel is a confocal z-series of DiI labeled clone; sections are 1.5 microns.Movie begins at dorsal surface. upper right panel is a projection of z-series, rotated 45 degrees about y-axis. DiI alone.
In both cases, anterior is up. |
