The NB 1-1 clone is anterior and a MNB clone is in the next adjacent segment, posteriorly. We chose these movies because they reveal the SPG-A glial cell well in the NB 1-1 clone, the SNb branch of the MNB clone and demonstrate the morphological arrangement of each clone in relation to one another. |

Abdominal NB 1-1 clone: NB 1-1 clone in upper abdominal segment, and MNB clone in next posterior segment. Confocal z-series on left begins at dorsal surface, demonstrating SPG-A at dorsal surface, directly overlying aCC and pCC, (both visible immediately ventral to this glial cell). A cluster of local interneurons is ventral and they extend axons posteriorly. aCC's axon extends via the ISN to muscle 1 (and others); a cell resembling CoA appears at the ventral most surface of the clone and extends a process that doesn't appear to continue beyond the limits of the CNS. Four ways to view clone: upper left panel is a confocal z-series of DiI labeled clone; sections are 1.5 microns. upper right panel is a projection of z-series, rotated 45 degrees about y-axis. DiI alone. lower left panel is a confocal z-series of DiI-labeled clone in en-GFP background. lower right panel is a projection of the z-series, rotated 45 degrees about y-axis. DiI with en-GFP.
In all cases, anterior is up. Both clones are in abdominal segments. |
