NB 2-3: NB 2-3 generates 3 extraordinarily large cells that are displaced in the ventral direction by mid stage 17; it generates an arching projection in the anterior commissure that cross the midline in a way similar to that seen in the clone derived from NB 7-3. It also generates a small cluster of small interneurons. Four ways to view the same clone: upper left panel is a confocal z-series of DiI labeled clone; sections are 1.5 microns. The embryo in these movies was slightly damaged in dissection so that the clone is slightly skewed in appearance, the left side being slightly higher than the right. upper right panel is a projection of z-series, rotated 45 degrees about y-axis. DiI alone. lower left panel is a confocal z-series of DiI-labeled clone in en-GFP background. lower right panel is a projection of the z-series, rotated 45 degrees about y-axis. DiI with en-GFP.
In all cases, anterior is up. |
