COIA Leadership

The COIA is a completely volunteer, grassroots organization of faculty senates from Division 1A institutions across the country.  To date,  56 of the 115 Division 1A institutions with faculty senates have joined the COIA.  For 2007-08, the COIA's leadership consists of a 15 member steering committee drawn from 9 Division 1A athletic conferences.  The steering committee is responsible for the direction and policy of the COIA in close consultation with the full COIA membership.  The COIA currently has three co-chairs, Professor Carole Browne (Wake Forest), Professor Joe Kotarba (Houston) and Professor Nathan Tublitz (Oregon) all of whom are on the steering committee and who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the organization.
